The cast and crew of the Hollywood movie “Public Enemies” will be back running around two Wisconsin cities on Monday and Tuesday.

Filming of the movies, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, is set to take place in Columbus and Beaver Dam.

Shooting is scheduled at a Columbus home on Monday and then in Beaver Dam on Tuesday at the Rogers Hotel, WISC-TV reported.

More filming is expected in Columbus on Tuesday afternoon.

Parts of the movie were filmed in Columbus back in march.

The movie is about the life of notorious, Depression-era bank robber John Dillinger, with Depp taking the starring role.

Supporters of the Chicago International Film Festival will get a big treat on July 16, two days before the official opening of the Chicago-made ”The Dark Knight,” the much-anticipated new ”Batman” flick starring Christian Bale and featuring the late Heath Ledger’s final performance in a major film.

The guests at the festival’s summer gala will attend the first Chicago showing of the movie in Navy Pier’s IMAX Theater, followed by a special tribute to Christopher Nolan, who directed Bale in ”Dark Knight” and the earlier ”Batman Begins.” The festival’s summer event always honors a major film world player. As the grounds of the Wisconsin Capitol were transformed into a movie set for the production of Public Enemies, crowds gathered around the Square to catch a glimpse of the Hollywood magic on Monday. The best seat in the house, though, at least for a scene that was shot in the morning and early afternoon, might have been from the windows of Capitol offices facing East Washington Avenue, from which they could look down on the action. Legislative staffers and others indeed watched the show below, a scene featuring Billy Crudup as FBI director J. Edgar Hoover introducing Christian Bale as Chicago agent Melvin Purvis to a scrum of reporters at a press conference in Washington, D.C..

Cast members, extras, not to mention the crew and their equipment, filled the top platform of the steps leading down from the second floor of the Capitol to East Washington Avenue. Rapper Common will have a starring role in the upcoming fourth installment of the “Terminator” series, “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.”

The Chicago MC will play a freedom fighter named Barnes who is defending the human race against a machine that aims to destroy it.

Common will star alongside Christian Bale — who will play the main character, John Connor — and Sam Worthington, among others. The Warner Bros. and Sony-distributed film is set to hit theaters in May 2009. Read the rest of this entry »
